Memorial Day

In memory of my grandparents Byron and Muriel Johnson -- to two loving people who taught me and my sisters about patriotism, love, hard work and honor through their actions, stories, laughter and hugs, I salut you and send you kisses and hugs from Oklahoma. I miss you guys.

Thank you JoDee for not forgetting. Papa was on a ship in a long and arduous war when he was only 17 years old. He was very brave and a hero in my eyes. The memories of the horrors of what he witnessed stayed with him the rest of his life. He was one of the lucky ones, he came home, met Granny and all of us were the result. The Byron and Muriel Johnson family was established. Both of your grandparents grew up in hard times, but they accomplished quite a bit despite their meager beginnings. Perhaps in some folks eyes their lives would not be considered successful in regards to monetary rewards but they never forgot where they came from or the heritage and the people from where they originated. In my eyes they were very wealthy. Love to you - Aunt Linda
