Grampy's Song

Grampy Max showed me a poem that he wrote the other day.  He has been digging into his geneaology and learning about his family.  Part of this poem/song contains words written by one of his distant relatives.  This song is a perfect glimpse into Grampy.  I love it and thought I would share it with you:

Just Wobblin' Along

Just wobblin' along
whistlin' a song

Age has slowed my pace
And wrinkles line my face yet
Deep inside I know--

*The spirit never ages
The essence of the soul is
Sure and strong forever and
keeps us young and whole

Just wobblin' along
Whistlin' a song

My Grandmother

I was blessed with two wonderful grandmothers. I really have had so many fabulous women in my life. I wish I had been into photography when my other grandmother was still alive. I would have taken the time to capture her image just like I captured my maternal grandmother this past weekend. Isn't she beautiful? I have always thought she was elegant. I like this picture because it captures a spark of her personality. I see it in her eyes-- reserved, dignified, a tad mishevious and always kind. I took a few of Grampy as well but haven't quite captured his personality yet. I'm going to keep snapping away and see if I can get it soon.

Elle, Ellyn & Max meet

Aunt Mindy was up visiting last week and she finally was able to introduce Elle to her namesake--Ellyn Lewey, our grandmother. It was a beautiful, perfect introduction. Elle behaved like an angel and Granny & Grampy Max were able to hold her and enjoy seeing their second great-grandchild. Georgia was a little ornery due to the fact she wasn't the center of attention. See her lovely hair-do below.
